Pandia Press: Real Science Odyssey Earth & Environment: You will find REAL Science Odyssey to be unlike any other science curricula available. Most notably, it is secular. Only scientific inquiry and theory based on empirical and measurable evidence are understood to be valid and standard science in all REAL Science Odyssey courses. Also, REAL Science Odyssey courses are written specifically for home and small group use. Packed full of serious science and loads of fun, REAL Science Odyssey is an incremental program that gently builds on itself and incorporates mathematics, scientific method, and science terminology. Created with the science novice in mind, you don’t need any science background to teach REAL Science Odyssey. In REAL Science Odyssey Earth & Environment 1, the topics include scientific modeling, a study of three of Earth’s “spheres,” weather, climate, the environment, erosion, and plate tectonics. Students study the weather; climate and climate change; the age of the earth and forces that shape it; and current pollution and environmental issues that affect water, land, and air. Short lessons are followed by several hands-on labs and activities including making a Pangaea puzzle, testing various methods of cleaning an oil spill, making a geologic timeline, and water cycle in a bowl. Rocks and minerals are studied in depth with students identifying their samples through the same tests used by geologists.
Pandia Press: History Quest Early Times: Through an exciting and rich narrative, History Quest: Early Times takes you on a journey into the past to experience the rise and fall of ancient civilizations and empires. In this homeschool history book, you’ll visit faraway places to meet and learn from everyday folks, famous world leaders, and even a few mythological characters. Designed as a read-aloud for elementary-age children, an independent read for older students, or a journey of exciting adventures for family storytime, the series presents an immersive study of history in an engaging and memorable format.
Learning Language Arts Through Literature, Blue Book 3rd edition: The Learning Language Arts through Literature program is a complete language arts program for Grades 1-12.
